Satellite radio antenna help
A weak or missing satellite signal is almost always caused by the antenna or cable path. The antenna must have a clear line to the sky and the signal cable must be fully connected with no sharp bends or metal interference.
1. Check both ends of the antenna cable and make sure each connector is fully seated.
2. Move the antenna to a location with open sky and no overhead obstruction.
3. Avoid metallic roof racks, tinted windshield areas, or blocked window placement.
4. Trace the cable for bends, kinks, or pinched sections that can reduce signal.
5. Power cycle the receiver and retry after confirming the antenna position.
What to check first
Test in a clear outdoor area with no roof, tree canopy, or tall building blocking the signal. If the signal returns immediately, the original antenna location was the issue. If the signal is still weak or absent, inspect the cable for a crimp, damaged section, or loose connection at the receiver.
Metal roof racks, window tint, and poor antenna mounting all create signal loss. A small adjustment in position often fixes the issue when the antenna is not facing a clear sky view.
